Much of May seems to have been taken up with preparing and getting ready. Preparing students for exams and preparing scores for later performances. Oh, and preparing myself for massive life-changing surgery too!
Something I don't really blog about here is my mental and physical health, but I guess it's something to deal with in a future post when I have the energy to deal with it.
One of the highlights of this spring was working with the amazingly enthusiastic Hypotenuse Trio, who commissioned my new piece Methylphenidate and released it in this fabulous recording. The piece is a fast, frenzied and exciting romp for the three wind instruments (clarinet, alto sax & trumpet).
